About ten minutes later, the squirrel jumped out and ran off into the woods, making good his escape.

We did count that one.
DougDoughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01779996988877260226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19011626.post-2520286325487878632009-02-23T14:14:00.000-08:002009-02-23T14:14:00.000-08:00Well, if someone asked "Did you catch anything thi...Well, if someone asked "Did you catch anything this weekend" I'd answer "Yes"...but I probably won't count it in my season totals.

If I count that starling then I would be tempted to count another starling that I know she had caught momentarily before it got out of her grip (see Vacation Grand Finale post). There's got to be a line somewhere so for me it's "bird in hand". Kinda like when I fly fish, even though I'm going to release the fish, if I don't have it in my hand then I don't count it as a fish "caught". I could play it right up to the bank but if it breaks free as I reach for it...nope.

In was a fantastic flight though. I'm not complaining. :-)Isaachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17248029424510169558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19011626.post-49101951250602561562009-02-22T17:46:00.000-08:002009-02-22T17:46:00.000-08:00Yeah, but she caught it.
