Rocky Mtn. National Park ロッキー山脈国立公園
It's not falconry but my wife and I headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday and WOW! It was so beautiful I just had to share some of the highlights. God bless America!
Another place you might want to visit that isn't so far as RMNP is Brainard Lake. Drive to Boulder then take SR 119 to Nederland. Then go north on SR 72 to Ward. There is a turn off to the west to Brainard Lake. It is a USFS area and they are charging day entry fees now. The lake is in a basin at the foot of the Indian Peaks. Entry point to a Wildnerness area. Wonderful views and good fishing in season.
It used to be one of my faves when I lived in Boulder while going to CU. In our early married years I used to put baby Lauren in a baby back-pack and we'd cross-country ski there.
Thanks for the suggestion Reid! I'll definately look into it. I'm still without a job so we're taking lots of road trips while I have the time. It's been a blast. Colorado is beautiful and a more than welcome change from Japanese city life!
"The reward that comes from practicing falconry is, and has to be, a feeling of your own personal satisfaction; that, and that alone. Chances are no one else will be around when your hawk is at her best. Falconry is a tedious, time consuming effort with long periods of stress and anxiety punctuated by heartbeats of gut-wrenching visceral satisfaction so intense that is impossible to put into words."
